Discover Dice Chess, an exciting chess variant that blends strategy, skill and an element of luck. Chess Coffee Connect (CCC) aspires to promote innovative chess projects that bring people together, provide new playing opportunities and make chess accessible to all. As a growing chess club in India, CCC aims to introduce players to new and engaging ways to experience the game.
The Story Behind Dice Chess
The following analysis is by International Master Vladimir Sveshnikov, founder of Dice Chess.
My journey with Dice Chess began when a project partner introduced me to the game. From the very first games I have been hooked.
As a chess player, I began to share Dice Chess with other players at tournaments. They responded promptly. The players were impressed, and the spectators came around the board, eager to see a new and exciting game of chess.
We launched the Dice Chess Federation in Latvia in 2019 and started holding live events. We eventually went online with the game and created, an accessible online chess site for players around the world. The game has a high number of registered players—currently over 200,000—showing a growing interest in playing alternative chess.
What Is Dice Chess?
Dice Chess is a fun chess game where an element of randomness is thrown into the mix. Unlike classical chess, Dice Chess is a game that requires some luck and strategic thinking, and it is a fun game for both advanced and novice players.
But it's a place where luck is a factor and where ability is a factor. Players can refine their strategies, develop their own decisions and learn with time. Over a longer period of time, the stronger player will be the favourite, but it is possible for the weaker player to win in individual games.
Due to this skill vs luck phenomenon, Dice Chess is exciting, accessible and entertaining.
Why Play Dice Chess?
Chess with a twist: A new perspective on the classic game.
Strategy and unpredictability: Make decisions as the game progresses.
Beginner-friendly: Learn the basics of piece movements and get started.
Fun for all ages: Bring children, casual players and high-level players on the same board.
A spectator-friendly experience: Fast speed and different outcomes keep the game interesting.
Dice Chess makes it possible for a community to play together and encourages new participants to join the more advanced players, offering an exciting format for community events, social gatherings and chess tournaments near me.
Chess Coffee Connect: Supporting Innovation in Chess
We think chess is more than a competitive game at Chess Coffee Connect (CCC). It's a method to create communities, to get people to engage and to forge meaningful relationships with the game.
We are much more than a tournament company. We encourage programmes such as introducing new audiences to chess, providing more opportunities for current players to play chess and assisting organisers to develop fun and interactive chess experiences.
Whether you're playing in a café, attending a community gathering, competing in a tournament, or enjoying one of the many other formats of chess, CCC is a place for players, parents, coaches and chess lovers to come together in a safe and supportive environment. We also complement the efforts of every chess academy in India by creating more opportunities for players to practise, connect and explore chess beyond traditional settings.
That's why we're getting excited about Dice Chess. It provides a different form of experience of chess, and it's a way of engaging your audience and getting people who don't normally play in a tournament to sit down and play.
Experience More Dice Chess at Chess Coffee Connect
Chess Coffee Connect aims to provide more chances for players to experience various types of matches, to connect with other players, and to enjoy chess in a different environment than the tournament hall.
We hope to provide more Dice Chess experiences and events to the CCC community, providing players and newcomers with more ways to enjoy the game.
